Getting geeky with Twitterrific and AppleScript →
Jason Snell explores the rarely explored depths of Twitterrific for Mac, including secret preferences and AppleScript support.
Geeky Friday: All my Twitterrific/AppleScript stuff put into a blog entry. http://xrl.us/beedxn
Collecting my thoughts for a piece where I rip iPhoto ‘09 a new one for being completely incompetent when it comes to AppleScript.
Talking Moose note: Be sure to download the LATEST Twitterrific version, released Thursday.

Please, everyone, stop building CMSes and slowly back away. Guns don’t kill people - content management systems do.
Swaying in the sonic joy of @imogenheap - it gets me every time.
I think I love Lost even more when Jack isn’t in it.
I’ve read Watchmen maybe 25 times. Notice new detail every single time. And now I’m even noticing more with each Motion Comic issue.
http://twitpic.com/18hwc - Yes, iPhoto can recognize photos in my screen shots. Even @harrymccracken
Wrote an AppleScript to speak every new tweet by @TalkingMoose — using Macintalk Fred.
Actually, it’s using more than 1 core. It’s using 138% CPU. But neither core is maxed out, so it’s inefficient in some way.
iMovie image stabilization appears to only be using one processor core. That’s… dumb.
Imported some video at 1080i as an image-stabilization test. 100 seconds of video, 25 minutes to stabilize it? YIKES.
Amazed at the childishness in our iMovie thread. Suggesting that someone lose their job because you dislike the app they wrote? Not cool.
iMovie '09 image stabilization →
Jason Snell gets a first glimpse at iMovie’s new image-stabilization feature.
Okay, here’s a brief brain dump about image stabilization in iMovie ‘09. http://xrl.us/bedzu6
iMovie 09 image stabilization samples: http://tinyurl.com/av3azg
iMovie 09 image-stabilization can take a long, long time, but it’s pretty good. It varies the zoom-in based on what’s in your clip, too.
Uploading things to Flickr and Facebook from iPhoto.
iPhoto ‘09 is scanning my faces.
iLife acquired. Nice, helpful Apple Store guys. (Always wonder if they recognize my name.) #worldfamousinpoland
Waiting outside the SF flagship Apple Store.
Leaving home late so I can swing by the Union Square Apple Store on the way to work and pick up iLife 09.
Trying out @dropbox at the suggestion of @hotdogsladies
Wow, lots of @dropbox love out there. As a pretty monogamous computer user (1 laptop, everywhere I go), I am not the best target for it.
Right on @milesobrien: http://xrl.us/bedn9n
I am informed by @laurengsnell that Equifax is a staggeringly incompetent company. Bad cust. svc. and terrible recordkeeping. Financial fail
“Now that’s a terrible waste of a Hot Pocket, Hugo.” http://xrl.us/bedkbq
Even I, someone who didn’t love “The Dark Knight” (terrible last 45 minutes), am a bit sad it didn’t get nominated for Best Picture.
Wanted: People interested in writing short reviews of lots of iPhone apps for a modest fee. e-mail pmichaels at macworld dot com!
It still blows me away that Lazlo from “Real Genius” is Ben’s dad on “Lost.”
Apple: We're not a one-man show →
Wednesday’s phone call with financial analysts allowed Apple COO Tim Cook to eloquently explain why Apple has a strong management team and corporate philosophy, even without Steve Jobs present every…
And for the record, Macworld does not allow any vendor’s Macworld Expo exhibiting affect our news or reviews coverage in any way. :-)
Why Apple’s not a one-man show: http://xrl.us/beddi4
iLounge’s team-up with CES makes you wonder about stories like this: http://xrl.us/beddd5 - Honesty or using content to hurt a competitor?
Crappy economy? Best. Apple. Quarter. Ever.
How’s Steve? Tim Cook just kicked ass and took names with his statement about Apple’s executive talent and corporate culture.
Now liveblogging the Apple financial call for @macworld
The Mac at 25 →
The Mac (and Macworld) turns 25 this Saturday. We celebrate the silver anniversary with a week’s worth of articles highlighting the Mac’s past—and looking ahead to Apple’s future.
Getting ready to speak at the North Coast Mac User Group!
I think it was sweet that John Roberts and Barack Obama were both quite nervous up there. First time for both.
You know what a good word is? “Former.”
I’d like to thank George Washington for making this whole peaceful transfer of power thing possible.
So wait, Dirk Benedict was the final Cylon?
Lady at Long Beach airport suggested I must be in the Toxic Waste business. Irony is dead.
