@danielpunkass Agreed 100% - best album since OK. I love “The Bends” so it will be hard to top that.
@ejacqui Huzzah D!
@ejacqui Despite that, I’m going to keep my vote at B. Will you tell us which one wins? ;-)
@ejacqui @Ihnatko I liked D but it’s hard to endorse a dress when all you can see is the top. It’s kind of shameless, actually.
@ejacqui Hey, I like the black. I suppose it all depends on where you’re going, but basic black on NYE works for me.
@bynkii If you use all caps, those 140 characters do seem to last longer, don’t they?
@ejacqui I can’t see enough of D so I’m gonna say B.
Still 2007 here in California. More news as it happens.
@GlennF The version I saw on TV omitted “Will I be rich?” which I thought was odd. Apparently the one on the web is the full version
@Ihnatko Indeed, we have always been undefeated. And we have always been at war with the Air Force.
@cdoemel Interesting - the TV version I saw omitted “Will I be rich.”
Cal wins a game! Cal wins a game! Shocking.
But by editing the lyrics for the ad, they’ve turned Que Sera Sera into a song about… being pretty? Weird stuff.
@geoffduncan Que Sera Sera. Whatever PC, PC.
Okay, try this one then. http://tinyurl.com/gg9gg
@adamjackson Are you not in the U.S.? It might be geolimited.
The Dell ad I was talking about is “Que Sera Sera” at http://xrl.us/bdmfe
I do think the use of music in that Dell ad is bizarre and inappropriate.
Why does everyone think I said anything about Dell’s ads being true? Of course they’re not. They’re ads.
I do find it hilarious that Dell suddenly thinks that it can promote its products by looks.
TV ad. Ad. Not add. They added an ad.
TV add for Dell: “Our computers are no longer hideously ugly!”
@Ihnatko Are you going to make Bester make out with Garibaldi again? Because I can’t bear to see that. Even with toys.
@Ihnatko It would sure be nice to be paid in a strong currency for once.
@Ihnatko Hey, that’s $.01 more than last year. Rip-off!
@marsedit I still love you though.
@marsedit As someone who liveblogs occasionally, you could be… um, better at it than you are.
December 2007
@DaveHamilton I’d be interested in hearing what was different this time, somewhere other than Twitter.
@DaveHamilton To be fair, beyond the keynote it’s basically IDG’s shot to call.
@DaveHamilton Since IDG takes the fall for all the shots Apple calls it seems fair that it get the credit too :-)
Dear New York Times, It’s “Macworld.” And it’s not “[Apple’s] exhibition.”
@gruber It’s Gumbel, not Gumble. But he sucks either way.
@Ihnatko Thank goodness there’s still Ultimate Spider-Man. They haven’t screwed that one up. YET.
@Ihnatko Completely horrible. Our hero essentially sells his soul to the devil? No wonder JMS wanted to take his name off of it.
Back online, sort of, after a day spent heeding Matt Deatherage’s advice and taking it easy
@mdeatherage If I keep this up i’ll be twittering my emetic episodes. Signing off.
@mdeatherage insert snappy retort here
@bynkii Thank you.
@mdeatherage I’m actually too sick to look.
@bynkii Where the heck is I-4??
@slant Thanks for the tip.
1000th post!
@chockenberry I admit this gets under my skin. People block ads on Macworld all the time, too. I know ads suck, but people won’t pay either.
@gruber Loved that NYT piece on Apple retail, but referring to “the faithful” in the headline? Lazy throwback to the cult of apple cliche.
@kvanhaaren Agreed on both points. If you don’t like the ads, use the free thing. Seems logical. Why rip off the other guys?
Jackball: “A half decent coder with a few spare hours [could] whip up a decent clone.” Bring it on. That’s competition - piracy isn’t.
@gruber I prefer the term jackball. But either way, Marc Fiszman is it.
@windowseat I saw that tonight. You got namechecked and everything!
@atariboy At least the dollar is cheap. Time to snuggle up to free Wi-Fi. :-)
@ShawnKing 85 Quatloos on the newcomer.
